Japan is one of my most favorite countries. The people are so friendly, the food delicious and the views are spectacular. Whether it's walking the streets in downtown Tokyo or visiting the peaceful countryside and rice paddies. This place is a photographers dream. Bold bright colors pop out everywhere. In the winter time especially, colors come out so crisp because of the blue skies and sharp dry air. Culturally this place is an experience. Pictured above is the local fish market in Toyama. Surrounded by steep mountains on three sides, this picturesque town is right on the coast on the Sea of Japan.. Making the seafood fresh and tasty. Rich is nature, we had a whole bunch of fun exploring here. After exploring Toyama for quite some time. We were able to catch the train through these surreal snowy mountains. Landing in a small town called Gokayama. The snow was 6ft high in places, but it wasn't the cold that took our breath away. It was the old thatched roof houses that are up to 250 years old. Shirakawago historic villages are a well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are three historic mountain villages over an area of 68 hectares in the remote Shogawa river valley. The train ride there felt like something out of a movie. You are surrounded by the most picturesque scenes, it feels like something straight out of a dream.
